1983 Camping Competition

Members of the 1st East Grinstead Scouts won the annual district camping competition recently at Blacklands, beating nine other teams and taking the trophy from the clutches of the Felbridge group who have won it for the past ten years. The team of five will now compete in the county competition, where their cooking, shooting, swimming and orienteering skills will be tested. Three members of the five man team are photographed with the trophy left to right are Stephen Abrams aged 13, Patrol Leader Paul Williams 13 and Ian Worth 11. Not present for the photograph were Jan Raymond 11 and Keith Mills 13
