1982 Cubs Tea Challenge

Toasting the town in tea is local Cub of Year, Jan Raymond, 10 years of the 1st East Grinstead Buckhurst Cubs. He went to the top of St Swithun’s Church East Grinstead last week with other aspiring members of the pack who were taking part in a National Tea Making Competition. The other cubs in the picture are left to right, Stephen Mills, Craig Cash, Sean Lunn, Mark Minchin, Darryl Smith, Lance Bishop and Christopher Davidson.
A marathon hike from East Grinstead to the Palace Pier at Brighton will be made on Saturday by the packs leaders. Starting from the Ship pub at 6am, the 27 mile sponsored walk is being made to raise funds to replace equipment lost when the H.Q. was burned down earlier in the year.
Taking part in the walk will be Akela Jean Hume together with Jim Turner, Helen Johnson, Vic Worth, Pam Worth and Jane Stacey.
