Annual Report 1914
EAST GRINSTEAD BOY SCOUTS
July, 1914.
DEAR SIR OR MADAM,
At a meeting of the Committee, when the attached Report and Statements of Accounts were adopted, it was decided to have them printed and sent out to those who would be interested in, and likely to support, this excellent organisation.
While we thank our Subscribers for the kind assistance they have given us in former years we note with regret that there has been a fall in the subscriptions from £39. 16s. to £26. 5s. 6d. and we venture to hope that in the coming year we may be able to rely on stronger financial support. As will be seen from the accounts, a considerable sum is needed every year to carry on the organisation and enable the Boys to go to Camp in the summer. Subscriptions and donations should be forwarded to Mr. H. PERKINS, at Barclay's Bank East Grinstead.
The Committee deeply appreciate the continued interest shown in the Troop by Mrs. Harrison. Through her valuable assistance it has been found possible to start a Special Equipment Fund, which will no doubt prove of great benefit to the Troop in the future. Lastly, we cannot conclude this report without conveying our sincere thanks to the Scoutmasters, on whom the successful working of the local Troop entirely depends.
In case it may suit your convenience we enclose a Banker's Order, which please return to Mr. R. H. HAZEL, 84, High Street, East Grinstead, if you see fit to make use of it.
EDWARD BLOUNT (Chairman),
